Wool
Wool is traditionally a flooring favourite. Aesthetically, it has a deep, rich look and feel and functionally good resilience and durability.
Wool is different to other fibres because of its chemical structure. Wool is a protein fibre, composed of more than 20 amino acids. These amino acids form protein polymers. Wool also contains small amounts of fat, calcium and sodium. It’s this chemical structure that influences its texture, elasticity, staple and form.
While other synthetic fibres have done a good job of replicating the characteristics of wool, there is no mistaking the softness, natural colour, luxurious look and resilience of genuine wool carpeting.
